Update

All is cruising along nicely now. The tilers have been through and have completed the laundry, bathroom, ensuite and splashback. The electrician was back yesterday pulling through all of the wires ready for switches etc. We did notice though that he has missed on above the kitchen sink, so we will have to keep an eye on that to make sure it gets done.

The downpipes went on today.

Moving Along

We have had a few developments lately. The Kitchen is in and they have put in the vanity units in the bathrooms. Also, as of yesterday - all the internal doors have been hung. Here are some photos...

Our Kitchen, the benchtops are Flinders Blue - bit hard to see with the cardboard on them though.









Our Alfresco ceiling was put in on the 29th of January.



The Verandah ceiling was put in on the 28th of January.

Lock-up

We have now officially arrived out the lock-up stage. Today the front door went on, as well as the 'shoppers' door from the garage.

Now it will be looking through windows and sneaking the occasional peek when the tradies are on site.

They also started today on the kitchen cabinets. The bench tops are there - so maybe tomorrow they may have a fair chunk done. We will have to wait and see.

Update

Here are the roof tiles, they were put on December 3rd. They have since been back and put the mortar on.



The walls were started on December 16th, with the sanding done the week before Christmas.



The cornices were done on January 6th, however there is a small area in the rear hallway that has not been finished. We gather they will be back for that. (or they forgot) We will have to wait and see.



Here is our bath - it was put in on the same day as our laundry trough. (January 15th)


All is going well, we guess that things will start moving quickly again now that the silly season is over.

25th November update

Everything is coming along nicely. Looks like the bricks will be finished tomorrow (depending upon the weather). We are also hoping that the tilers will start soon so that we will have a roof so the woodwork has a bit of protection from the rain.

Update on our build to date

Down goes the house. It was originally built in the mid 1970's. We lived there for the last 18 years of it's life.



Our Demolition went smoothly - only a day to drop it, then the next to clear the site. (except keep our garden at the rear and the shed)

Friday 9th October 2009 - No Roof.

Monday 12th October 2009 - House going down. Site was cleared completely the next day.















Tuesday 20th October 2009 - Trenches dug. The plumbing pipes went in the next day.













Thursday 22nd October 2009 - Mesh and trenching covered.



















Wednesday 28th October 2009 - Slab poured.




















Friday 13th November 2009 - Frame started.
















Monday 16th November 2009 - Roof frame completed.







Tuesday 17th November 2009 - Internal plumbing pipes put in. We now have a running water tap on the side of the house. (it is going to make watering the garden so much easier)











Wednesday 18th November 2009 - Windows and sliding doors are in.

Wow...no mucking around here. Something just about being done or delivered every day.

Well, it has been sometime since my first post...have had internet issues. Since moving to a temporary house it has taken sometime to have our phone line set up. All sorts of delays and issues. I also spat it at the fees charged to move my broadband access (even though we are using the same phone number - and only moved 1km from where we were), we are now back on dial-up, so everything is very slow. Hopefully, not for too long though. Going on how fast everything has been happening up till now, we may be in our new house sooner than we first thought.

09/10 - OK to Start Date

09/10 to 13/10 House demolished

15/10 - Base laid

20/10 - Site cut into blocks for the slab

21/10 - Pipes put in

22/10 - Plastic down along with the wire mesh

We are now looking at the slab being poured tomorrow
